How to cook pastina chicken soup

Fresh and thick soup with chicken and paste loaded with shallots and chopped carrot. Pastina chicken soup is a delicious recipe with nutritional values.  Pasta is a high calorie ingredient used to make different dishes, soups and snacks. Let us see the procedure of making flavorful soup.


  • Olive oil- 2 spoons
  • Minced shallots- 2
  • Kosher salt- 1/2 spoon
  • Chicken broth- 3 cups
  • Grated parmesan cheese- 1/2 cup
  • Lemon zest- 1 spoon
  • Chopped celery stalk
  • Peeled and chopped carrot-1
  • Thyme sprigs-2
  • Parmesan rind- 1 piece
  • Star paste- 1cup
  • Frozen peas- 1/2 cup
  • Water- 1 cup


Step 1: Heat olive oil in a sauce pan over medium heat, add celery leaves, chopped carrot and shallots. cook it for 5min until softens.

Step 2: Add sprigs thyme, chicken broth, water and parmesan rind. stir it well.

Step 3: Simmer the mixture and cook for 10-15min, add pasta and stir it well to prevent lumps.

Step 4: Cook it well until paste is cooked and liquid thickens slightly.

Step 5: Add frozen peas and stir it well and off the flame.

Step 6: Serve the soup in bowls and use grated cheese and lemon zest as toppings.
