How to make mishti doi / sweet curd

Mishti Doi is a popular bengali dessert served chilled. It is commonly known as sweet dahi. Dry nuts add more taste to this dessert along with cardamom flavor. It is a traditional mouth watering dish specially made at the time of marriages and festivals. Recipe is more delightful prepared in a short time.


  •  Creamy milk- 2ltrs
  • Almonds chopped- 2 spoons
  • Pistachio chopped- 2spoons
  • Cardamom crushed- 1 spoon
  • Kesar- 1spoon
  • Black pepper powder- 1/2spoon
  • Sugar- 1/4cup
  • Yogurt- 2spoons


Step 1: Boil milk in a non stick pan at low flame, stir it slowly till milk reduces to half.

Step 2: Add sugar to dissolve in milk and off the flame.

Step 3:Transfer into big bowl and add yogurt.

Step 4: Stir it well, sprinkle black pepper powder, chopped pistachio, chopped almonds.

Step 5: Sprinkle kesar and cardamom powder on mishti doi / sweet curd.

Step 6: After it gets curdle store in refrigerator for 2-3hrs.

Step 7: Serve the chilled sweet curd with dry nuts.
