How to prepare crab masala

South indian crab masala has delicious taste taken as main course. A spicy crab masala with ginger flavor is very hot and tasty. Crab is one of the favorite dish for sea food lovers. It has lot of health benefits. We can prepare different recipes by using this crabs.


  • Medium sized crabs- 5
  • Chopped onions- 1 cup
  • Chopped tomatoes- 1 cup
  • Chopped green chillies- 3
  • Chopped ginger- 1 spoon
  • Coriander powder- 1 spoon
  • Chopped coriander leaves- 1/2 cup
  • Red chilli powder- 1 spoon
  • Turmeric powder- pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil as required
  • Cumin seeds- 1 spoon


Step 1: Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and saute it for 2min.

Step 2: Add chopped onions and fry them till it turns into brown colour.

Step 3: Add chopped green chillies, ginger and saute it for a minute.

Step 4: Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder and salt cook it for  2min.

Step 5: Add red chilli powder, coriander powder and saute it well.

Step 6: Add cleaned crab and cook until crab boils.

Step 7:After crab gets completly boiled off the flame.

Step 8: Serve crabs in plate and garnish with coriander leaves.
