How to prepare corn tikki at home

A spicy item with boiled corn kernels and smashed potatoes. Corn tikki is a delicious snack item with different flavors. Yummy south indian snack item easy to prepare in short time.  


  • Boiled and smashed potato- 2 medium
  • Chopped onions- 1/2 cup
  • Dried mango powder- 1 spoon
  • Chopped green chillies- 1 spoon
  • Peeled tomato-3 medium
  • Turmeric powder- pinch
  • Cumin seeds- 1 spoon
  • Oil as needed
  • Red chilli power- 1 spoon
  • Coriander powder- 1 spoon
  • Broken red chillied- 2
  • Chopped jaggery-1 spoon
  • Mint leaves- 1/4 cup
  • Coriander leaves- 2 springs for ganish
  • Grated cheese- 100gms
  • Coriander seeds- 1 spoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Corn flour- 2 spoons


Step 1: Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and saute them for 2min.

Step 2: Add green chillies, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder and corn kernels. saute them for 5min.

Step 3: Heat oil in another pan, add coriander seeds, broken red chillies, chopped onions and saute them for 2-5min.

Step 4: Smash and add corn kernel mixture and dried mango powder to the pan and fry them till mixture gets dried.

Step 5: Add tomatoes, coriander powder, salt, vinegar and jaggery. mix the whole mixture and cook it for 5-10min till it becomes thick.

Step 6: Off the flame and keep aside till the temperature reduces.

Step 7: Take mint leaves and coriander leaves in a bowl, add boiled potatoes, grated cheese, corn powder and mix it well by adding water.

Step 8: Divide corn kernel mixture in equal portions.

Step 9: Drop each in corn flour mixture evenly all the sides.

Step 10: Heat oil in kadai, drop them in oil till it turns into brown color.

Step 11: Garnish with coriander and tomato slices, serve with tomato chutney.
