How to make chicken frankie at home

Delicious chicken frankie, simple to make with roti. It is spicy and quick meal popular in maharastra. Chicken frankie is commonly known as chicken kathi roll. It is favorite food for most of the kids. We can use vegetables instead of chicken. Let us see the procedure of making the delicious snack item.


  • Boneless chicken – 2 small cups
  • Chopped onions-2 medium
  • Refined/ plain flour-2 cups
  • Ginger and garlic paste-2 spoons
  • Coriander powder- 2 spoons
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 spoon
  • Lemon juice- 3 spoons
  • Chopped coriander leaves-2 spoons
  • Chilli vinegar- 4 spoons
  • Eggs-3
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil- 1/4 cup
  • Red chilli powder- 1 spoon
  • Chopped tomatoes- 1 cup


Step 1: Mix plain flour, water and salt in a bowl and make into smooth dough.

Step 2: Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions and saute it for 2min.

Step 3: Add ginger and garlic paste, stir it well.

Step 4: Add cleaned chicken boneless pieces and mix it well.

Step 5: Add chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder and tomato pieces. Cook it for 10-15min at low flame.

Step 6: Add coriander leaves and lemon juice and cook till it becomes dry.

Step 7: Now make dough into equal parts and roll like roti, roast them on non-stick pan by adding spoon of oil.

Step 8: Whisk eggs and pour on roti, allow it to set.

Step 9: now place roti on a serving plate and place the chicken mixture on it evenly.

Step 10: Sprinkle onion slices and tomato slices and roll the frankie.

Step 11: Drizzle the chilli vinegar and serve with tomato sauce or green chutney.
