How to cook corn meal idli

Maize contain high amount of fibre, calcium and minerals. This recipe is very healthy with delicious taste. Corn meal idli is preferred as break fast as well as mini meal.This recipe ingredients are different from the normal idli. Let us see the procedure..


  • Maize flour- 1cup
  • Eno fruit salt- pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Grated ginger- 1 spoon
  • Chopped green chillies- 2 spoons
  • Urad dhal -1/2 spoon
  • Chana dhal- 1/2 spoon
  • Mustard seeds- 1/2 spoon
  • Curry leaves- 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves- 2-3 spoon
  • Curd- 1 cup
  • Oil- 3 spoons


Step 1: Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, chana dhal and urad dhal. saute them for 2min.

Step 2: Add green chilli, ginger, curry leaves and saute it for 2min.

Step 3: Add maize flour and stir it well for 1-2min.

Step 4: Take the whole mixture in a bowl, add whisked curd, salt mix it well.

Step 5: Add chopped coriander and mix it well using water,  make into smooth batter.

Step 6: After some time batter becomes puffy later add eno salt and mix it well.

Step 7: In pressure cooker cook idli in idli stand without whistle.

Step 8: After 15min, off the flame and serve in a plate.
