How to cook chettinaad chicken fry

Popular recipe famous in south india is chettinaad chicken fry. Recipe is simple to prepare with delicious taste and fresh masala flavors. Chettinaad chicken fry is a famous mouth water dish with spicy taste. Let us see making of this delicious recipe.


  • Chicken- 8 pieces
  • Chopped onions- 1cup
  • Chopped ginger and garlic- 2 spoons
  • Chopped green chillies- 1/4cup
  • Red chillies – 3
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 spoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Rice flour- 2 spoons
  • Oil as needed
  • Curry leaves- 1/2 cup
  • Lemon juice- 3spoons
  • Coriander  leaves- 1/2 cup


Step 1: Grind chopped ginger garlic, green chillies, onions and curry leaves into fine paste by adding some water.

Step 2: Clean chicken with fresh water, marinate  chicken by adding salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, lemon juice and rice flour.

Step 3: Add wet masala paste and keep aside for 2hrs.

Step 4: Heat oil in a non-stick pan, drop marinated chicken in the pan evenly on all sides to avoid sticking.

Step 5: Place a lid and cook chicken till it gets boiled.

Step 6: Stir it well and again place lid for cooking.

Step 7: Off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves.

Step 8: Serve recipe with hot rice.
