How to make onion pakoda / pakora at home – Quick snack recipe

Onion pakoda or onion pakora is a tasty and quick snack item. Using of finely chopped onions for preparing onion pakoda makes the snack item tastier. Since onion pakoda is fried in deep hot oil, it gives a crispy taste while eating. Serve the onion pakoda or onion fritters with ketchup or tomato pickle for perfect taste. Add little chilli powder while mixing the gram flour to get a spicy taste. Using of freshly grinded gram flour adds a unique taste to onion pakoda.

Ingredients required for making onion pakoda at home

  • Gram flour – 1 cup
  • Chopped onions – 1 cup
  • Oil
  • Salt – 1 tbsp

Procedure of making onion pakoda / Onion fritters at home

  • Take finely chopped onion slices in a bowl.
  • Add gram flour and salt. Mix the ingredients by adding little water.
  • Now take a pan on stove for deep fry and add oil to it. After oil is hot take little portion of gram flour onion mixture that we prepared with hand. Drop small portion of it in hot oil evenly.
  • Fry till golden brown in shade by stirring. Collect them out from oil.
