How to prepare mango and papaya chutney

Peeled and seeded mango papaya chutney served hot with steamed rice.  It is a low calorie recipe made with raw mango and papaya.  We can use other fruits such as apple, carrot instead of mango. Recipe is sweet and spicy with fruit flavors. Lime juice adds more taste to the recipe. Now let us see the procedure of spicy chutney.

Ingredients:

  • Peeled and seeded raw papaya- 1 cup
  • Onion slices- 1 medium
  • Oil- 2 spoons
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped green chillies-2
  • Fine black pepper powder pinch
  • Lemon juice- 3 spoons
  • Peeled raw mango-1 medium
  • Spring onions-  2 spoons

Procedure:

Step 1: Heat oil in a pan, add onion slices and saute it well.

Step 2: Add raw papaya pieces and green chillies

Step 3: Stir the whole mixture and cook it for 5-10min at low flame.

step 4: Add salt, pepper powder and lemon juice, mix it well.

Step 5: Add grated raw mango to the recipe.

Step 6: Cover with a lid, cook recipe at low flame for 5min.

Step 7: Off the flame and serve the hot mango and papaya chutney.

Step 8: We can also add tempering to the chutney for more taste.
