How to prepare nuvvu avakaya / mango pickle using sesame seeds

Nuvvu avakaya , a delicious pickle made with roasted sesame powder and raw mangoes. It is easy to make, mango pickles are perfect combination with hot rice and ghee. recipe is very popular and most commonly known nuvvu pindi avakaya. It is very simple to prepare this pickle with few ingredients and within no time. Let us see the procedure of making spicy mango pickle made using sesame seeds.

Ingredients:

  • Raw mangoes chunks- 2 cups
  • Oil- 1 1/4 cup
  • Red chilli powder- 1/2 cup
  • Salt- 1/4 cup
  • Sesame seeds- 1 cup
  • Garlic pods- 5-10

Procedure:

Step 1: Roast sesame seeds and grind into fine powder.

Step 2: Peel skin of garlic cloves and set aside.

Step 3: Wash and dry the raw mangoes, cut them into small pieces.

Step 4: Add salt and sesame powder to raw mango chunks and mix it well.

Step 5: Now add red chilli powder, oil and garlic pods and stir it well.

Step 6: Mix it well till the mango pieces are completely dipped in oil.

Step 7: Keep aside and serve to eat after 2 hrs.
