Spinach soup made with red lentils contains proteins and calcium. Spinach soup has more health benefits with its nutritional values. Soups are of different varieties made with different ingredients. Now let us see the procedure of making spinach soup.
- Red lentils- ½ cup
- Chopped spinach- 1 cup
- Onion slices- ½ cup
- Milk- ½ cup
- Red chilli powder- 1 spoon
- Mint leaves- 5
- Tomatoes- 3 medium
- Pepper flakes- ½ spoon
- Red chili flakes- ½ spoon
- Salt to taste
- Chopped ginger and garlic – 1 spoon
- Bread crumbs- ½ cup
- Milk cream-2 spoons
Step 1: Roast sliced onion, ginger and garlic at medium flame for 2-3min.
Step 2: In a pressure cooker, add red lentils and tomatoes.
Step 3: Add 2 cups of water and boil them till it gets 2-3 whistles.
Step 4: Off the flame and keep aside till the temperature reduces.
Step 5: Stir it well and make tomatoes and red lentils into smooth paste.
Step 6: On other side, Boil milk in a pan, add spinach, salt and chilli powder.
Step 7: Add some water and boil them till spinach turns into soft paste.
Step 8: Add roasted onions, ginger and garlic to the mixture.
Step 9: Now add boiled lentil and tomato paste. Stir it well.
Step 10: Serve in a bowl, add bread crumbs, pepper powder and chili flakes.
Step 11: Garnish with milk cream and mint leaves
