How to make rawa pulihora

A quick and easy way to make at home. It is popular south indian breakfast / snack item prepared by using rice rawa. Rawa pulihara is very healthy recipe with delicious taste and simple to prepare too.


  • Rice rawa- 2 cups
  • Water as required
  • Mustard seeds- 1/2 spoon
  • Urad dhal- 1/2 spoon
  • Chaana dhal- 1spoon
  • Cashew nuts- 1/4 cup
  • Curry leaves- 2 springs
  • Green chillies- 5 cut into long halves
  • Lemon juice- 5 spoons
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 spoon
  • Oil as required
  • Salt to taste


Step 1: Clean rice rawa with fresh water and cook rice rawa using pressure cooker.

Step 2: Off the flame and take it out when steam in pressure cooker completely comes out.

Step 3: Serve it in a plate and keep aside till the temperature reduces.

step 4: Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chaana dhal and urad dhal saute it for 2min.

Step 5: Later add green chillies, curry leaves, tumeric powder and required salt.

Step 6: Saute it well and cashew nuts, fry them well tillit turns into brown colour.

Step 7: Add boiled rice rawa and lemon juice, stir it well.

Step 8: Serve in a bowl and enjoy the taste of it.
