Raw turmeric pickle contains rich anti-oxidants that fight against disease. It is very popular recipe in south india. Ginger is main ingredient that add taste to the recipe. Raw turmeric has huge health benefits, it is used in preparing various ayurvedic medicines to fight against fungi and bacteria.
- Raw turmeric- 250gms
- Salt to taste
- Mustard oil- 100gms
- Chilli powder- 1 spoon
- Fenugreek seeds- 3 spoons
- Mustard powder- 3 spoons
- Ginger powder- 2 spoons
- Asafoetida- 3/4 spoon
- Lemon juice- 1/2 cup
Step 1: Wash and peel the skin of raw turmeric and keep under sunlight to dry.
Step 2: Rub with cotton cloth to remove water if remains.
Step 3: Grate the peeled raw turmeric.
Step 4: Heat mustard oil at low flame, add asafoetida, fenugreek seeds and stir it well.
Step 5: Add ginger,chilli powder and salt and stir it well.
Step 6: Add grated turmeric to the mixture and stir it well.
Step 7: Off the flame and serve it in a bowl and add lemon juice to the pickle.
Step 8:Keep pickle in glass container and expose it to sunlight to increase the taste of pickle.
Step 9: It can be consumed for about 6months.
