How to make rajasthani ghevar

Famous rajasthani ghevar mithai. A popular dessert with ghee flavor, it has unique taste. Dessert is covered with silver foil and almonds are used as toppings for this popular dessert.


  • Plain flour- 2 cups
  • Sugar- 1 cup
  • Milk- 1/2 cup
  • Baking soda- pinch
  • Ghee as needed
  • Almond slices- 1/4 cup
  • Corn flour- 2 spoons
  • Silver foil
  • Pistachio slices- 1/4 cup
  • Kesar- 1/2 spoon


Step 1: Melt ghee , add plain flour, corn flour stir it well by adding some water.

Step 2: Add water and whisk it well without any lumps. keep it aside.

Step 3: Heat pan, add sugar and water stir it well till the sugar dissolves.

Step 4: Add milk and stir it well, heat it well till it turns into thick syrup.

Step 5: Add pine essence, off the flame and keep aside.

Step 6: On other side, using ladle pour three times into a small bowl.

Step 7: Add pinch of baking soda and mix it well.

Step 8: Pour one ladle of melted ghee on batter, again pour one ladle of batter on ghee and later batter.

Step 9: Cook the dessert at high flame.

Step 10: Later add milk and sugar syrup and decorate with sliver foil.

Step 11: Garnish dessert with almond slices, pistachio slices and kesar.

Step 12: Keep aside till the temperature reduces and serve it to taste.
