- Prawns- 200gms
- Onions paste- 1/2 cup
- Onion slices- deep fried- 1/2 cup
- Salt to taste
- Tomato puree- 3 spoons
- Mint leaves- 3 strigs
- Saffron- 1/2 spoon
- Ginger and garlic paste- 2 spoons
- Curd – 1 spoon
- Nutmeg powder- 1 spoon
- Refined oil- 4 spoons
- Red chilli powder- 1 spoon
- Basmati rice- 250gms
- Ghee- 2 spoons
- Salt- 1 spoon
- Garam masala- 2 spoons
- Refined oil- 2 spoons
Step 1: Take prawns in a bowl, add half of onion paste, ginger and garlic paste, red chilli powder. Stir it well and marinate for 10-15min.
Step 2: In a pan, heat refined oil add remaining onion paste, ginger and garlic paste, red chilli powder. Saute it well for 2-5min.
Step 3: Add tomato puree, curd, salt and sugar to the marinated prawns. Cover them with a lid and cook for 5-10min at low flame.
Step 4: Put pressure cooker on the flame, add refined oil and ghee heat them together, later add bay leaf and garam masala. stir it well and cook till flavor starts.
Step 5: Add rice, salt and water to it. cook for 2min.
Step 6: Take flat bottomed bowl, add fried onions followed by rice base. Place layer of prawn curry, saffron and nutmeg powder.
Step 7: Finally place remaining rice, fried onions, mint leaves. cook for 2min at low flame.
Step 8: Serve the delicious prawns biryani.
