Lemon pickle, a famous south indian pickle easy to make within less time and with less ingredients. It is a mouth watering recipe prepared particularly in summer. Lemon pickle is the perfect combination with curd rice. Every one love to eat this delicious pickle, Now let us see the procedure of making this lemon pickle at home.
- Fresh and ripe lemons- 20 medium size
- Red chilli powder- as needed
- Turmeric powder- 2 spoons
- Salt to taste
- Oil- 1 cup
- fenugreek powder- 1/2 spoon
- Asafoetida- 1/2 spoon
- garlic pods- 10-15
Step 1: Clean lemon with wet cotton cloth and set aside to dry.
Step 2: Later cut each lemon into 4 pieces, remove seeds and place in a glass bowl.
Step 3: Add salt to the lemon and stir it well.
Step 4: Add oil, asafoetida, fenugreek powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and pinch of sugar.
Step 5: Mix all the ingredients well, add 1/4 cup of lemon juice to the pickle and store in glass jar for a week.
Step 6: Add 1/4 cup of lemon juice in the middle of the week.
Step 7: Later serve the recipe with hot steamed rice or along with curd rice.
Enjoy the taste of yummy lemon pickle.
- Remove seeds from the lemon
- Store pickle in air tight container
- Dont stir the pickle for atleast 3-5days
