Kala gulab jamun, a delicious traditional dessert served at all times. Kala jamun is a dark color dessert made with grated paneer and mawa. The dessert is very popular in north india with its unique taste. Moreover it is very simple to prepare dessert item at home. Now let us see the procedure of kala jamun.
- Mawa- 3/4 cup
- Refined flour-1/4 cup
- Corn flour-1/4 cup
- Green cardamom powder-pinch
- Ghee to fry
- Milk- 1 spoon
- Paneer- 1/2 cup
- Sugar- 1 1/2 cup
- Almond slices- 2 spoons
- Pistachio slices- 1 spoon
Step 1: Grate mawa and paneer separately in a bowl and mix them.
Step 2: Add refined flour and corn flour to paneer mix, knead it well till smooth.
Step 3: Make dough into equal parts without cracks on the surface.
Step 4: Boil equal amount of sugar and water at low flame till sugar dissolves.
Step 5: Add spoon of milk and cardamom powder, simmer till the sugar syrup turns into golden brown color.
Step 6: Heat ghee until it smokes, drop mawa/ khoya balls fry them till they float.
Step 7: Heat continuously at medium flame till they turn into brown color.
Step 8: Sieve balls from ghee and drop in the sugar syrup.
Step 9: Dip the balls and let them soak in syrup for 10min.
Step 10: Serve kala gulab jam in a bowl and garnish with almond and pistachio slices.
