Simple, easy and healthy snack item especially for kids. These snack recipes are made with different combinations with low fat and calorie values. Some are crispy and some are soft snacks, each recipe has its own taste and texture. In some snack we used fruits from berry family. Here are some easy snack recipes for kids – blueberry muffins, caramel coconut slices, alphabet pikelets and crispy corn chips. Let us see the procedure and ingredients to make the healthy and easy kids snack recipes.
- Self raising flour- 2 1/2 cups
- Packed brown sugar- 3/4 cup
- Beaten eggs- 2
- Fresh blueberries- 130gms
- Chopped butter- 100gms
- Milk- 1 cup
Step 1: Preheat oven at 180 degrees and grease the muffin pan evenly.
Step 2:Combine butter and flour in a bowl, mix it well with fingertips to avoid lumps.
Step 3: Add sugar and mix it well.
Step 4: Add blueberries, milk and egg to the flour mixture and mix it well until all the ingredients combines.
Step 5: Pour mixture in muffins pan and bake for 20-25min till it completely bakes.
Step 6: Take out and set aside to cool , serve the delicious blueberry muffins.

Caramel coconut slices / bars
- Plain flour- 1 cup
- Brown sugar – 1/2 cup
- Melted butter- 130gms
- Shredded coconut- 1/2 cup+ 1 cup
- Chopped butter- 150gms
- Brown sugar- 2/3 cup
- Golden syrup- 2 spoons
- Chopped almonds- 1 cup
Step 1: Preheat oven at 180 degrees and grease the pan and line with baking paper.
Step 2: Combine sugar, flour, coconut and butter in a bowl. mix it well and place in baking pan, bake the mixture for 15min until brown and set aside to reduce the temperature.
Step 3: Place sugar, golden syrup and butter in a sauce pan over medium flame by stirring it well for 5-10min until smooth.
Step 4: Simmer it and cook well till the mixture gets thickened.
Step 5: Off the flame and sprinkle almonds and coconut.
Step 6: Spread the mixture all the sides and again bake it for 10min.
Step 7: Set aside to cool and cut into small slices.
Crispy corn chips
- Polenta – 1cup
- Salt to taste
- Baking powder- 1 spoon
- Olive oil- 1/4 cup
- Sea salt- 1 spoon
- Plain flour- 2/3 cup
Step 1: Preheat oven at 180 degrees, Combine polenta, salt, flour and baking powder in a bowl.
Step 2: Add oil and cold water to it, combine the whole mixture well.
Step 3: Divide dough into balls, Place dough ball in between baking sheet and sprinkle salt over it.
Step 4: Remove top of the baking paper and place it on the baking tray.
Step 5: Using metal ruler make dough into triangular shapes.
Step 6: Repeat the process for all the dough.
Step 7: At last bake tray for 15-20min until it turns into golden brown color.
Step 8: Set aside till it gets cool , serve crispy snack of polenta for kids.
- Self raising flour- 200gms
- Caster sugar- 1 spoon
- Olive oil- to grease
- Caster sugar- 1 spoon
- Baking powder-1 spoon
- Whisked egg- 1
- Milk- 1 1/4 cup
Step 1: Combine sugar, baking powder and flour in a large bowl.
Step 2: Whisk egg and milk in a bowl and pour them in a flour mixture.
Step 3: Mix it well until it smooth batter forms, cover with plastic wrap and set aside for 15min.
Step 4: Heat non-stick pan at low flame, spray olive oil and spoon half of the butter in plastic bag.
Step 5: Cut the corner of the plastic bag and by moving your hand drop batter into required shapes.
Step 6: Cook them well until golden brown color and transfer it into a plate.
Step 7: Repeat the process for remaining batter.
Step 8: Serve them in a plate along with strawberry or any fruit jam.
