How to prepare crispy and crunchy snack items using bread

Delicious crispy snacks are easy to make within no time. Bread cutlet and bread rolls are crispy items prepared with baked potatoes and bread slices. These are very spicy with distinct flavor. Procedure of both recipes are same but variant in their taste and shape. Bread snacks are served hot with green chutney or tomato sauce. These snacks are prepared in the evening especially during monsoon. Generally kids love to eat crispy items and these bread snacks are loved by them very much. Let us see the procedure of spicy and crispy bread snacks.

Crispy bread cutlet

  • Boiled potatoes- 2
  • Bread- 4 slices
  • Boiled peas- 2 spoons
  • Chopped ginger- 1 inch
  • Garam masala powder- 1 spoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped green chillies- 1 spoon
  • Chilli powder- 1/2 spoon
  • Oil- 1 spoon
  • Curry leaves- 1 sprig
  • Chopped ginger – 1 spoon
  • Dry mango powder- 1/2 spoon
  • Oil for fry


Step 1: Boil potato and smash it well.

Step 2: Heat spoon of oil in kadai, add mustard seeds, curry leaves saute it well.

Step 3: Add smashed potato, green chilli, ginger, boiled peas, red chilli powder, garam masala, mango powder and salt.

Step 4: Mix all the ingredients well and cook it for 2-5min.

Step 5: Off the flame and set aside till the temperature reduces.

Step 6: Make mixture into small balls, take bowl of water and dip the bread slice and drain out the excess water.

Step 7: Place potato ball in the center of slice and cover it evenly on all sides.

Step 8: Repeat process for all the bread slices, heat oil in kadai drop bread balls and fry till they turn into brown color.

Step 9: Place them in a plate, sprinkle masala over it and serve with green chutney.

Crispy and crunchy bread rolls



  • Potatoes- 2 -boiled
  • Chopped coriander leaves- 1/2 cup
  • Chilli powder to taste
  • Garam masala powder- 1/4 spoon
  • Oil for fry
  • Chopped green chillies-
  • Bread slices- 8-10


Step 1: Add salt, chilli powder, chopped coriander, green chillies, garam masala  to the boiled and smashed potatoes. mix all the ingredients well.

Step 2: Take water in a bowl, dip bread slice and drain out water.

Step 3: Make potato mixture into small balls and place in we bread. make them into rolls.

Step 4: Heat oil in kadai and fry the bread rolls till they turn into brown color.

Step 5: Serve bread balls with tomato sauce.
