How to make cauliflower bonda at home

The primary ingredient of the recipe is cauliflower. It is rich in vitamins and low in fat level. Cauliflower bonda is delicious vegeterian snack item popular in india. It is very simple snack item served in hotels and restaurants.


  • Cauliflower florets- 250gms
  • Gram flour- 150gms
  • Rice flour- 50gms
  • Cumin seeds- 1/2 spoon
  • Baking soda- pinch
  • Water as required
  • Oil to fry
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder- 1/2 spoon
  • Green chillies chopped- 1/4 cup
  • Chopped coriander- 1/2 cup


Step 1: Using grinder, mix green chillies and cumin seeds into fine paste.

Step 2: Keep chilli-cumin paste aside.

Step 3: Wash cauliflower florets in warm water.

Step 4: Cook them in water for 10-15min and sieve cauliflower from water and keep aside.

Step 5: Take a mixy jar, add gram flour, rice flour, 2 spoons of oil, water and salt.

Step 6: Grind them well and make into smooth batter by adding some more water if necessary.

Step 7: Serve batter in a bowl and add red chilli powder, chilli and cumin paste and mix it well.

step 8: Add chopped coriander leaves and mix it well.

Step 9: Keep aside for 15-20min. later add baking soda to the batter and mix it well.

Step 10: Heat oil in a pan, dip boiled cauliflower florets in batter and drop in hot oil.

Step 11: Repeat the procedure for all the batter and serve them in a plate.
