How to make healthy dessert recipes – Raisins halwa and carrot kesari / carrot payasam

Ingredients:

  • Raisins- 200gms
  • Sugar – 1 1/2 cup
  • Corn starch- 1/2 cup
  • Water- 200ml
  • Ghee- 200ml
  • Cardamom powder- 1/2 spoon
  • Cashew nuts- 20gms

Procedure:

Step 1: Soak raisins over night and drain water completely from them.

Step 2: Blend raisin into fine paste, take corn starch in a bowl add water and mix it well into thin paste.

Step 3: Heat ghee in a pan, add cashew nuts, sugar cook both of them till sugar dissolves completely.

Step 4: Add raisins paste and boil it, later after 3min add corn starch and stir it continuously.

Step 5: Add remaining ghee and stir it well, it becomes thick and ghee comes out of it.

Step 6: Sprinkle cardamom powder and transfer halwa in a tray.

Step 7: Let it cool down, cut into small pieces and serve in a plate.

Step 8: Enjoy the taste of delicious raisins halwa at home.

Carrot payasam / carrot kesari

Carrot Halwa

Ingredients:

  • Carrot- 250gms
  • Sugar- as required
  • Cardamom powder- 10gms
  • Almonds- 50gms
  • Raisins- 50gms
  • Milk- 50ml
  • Cashew nuts- 100gms
  • Coconut pieces- 1/4 cup

Procedure:

Step 1: Boil carrots in a pressure cooker, soak cashew nuts in water till they become soft later blend them into fine paste.

Step 2: Heat ghee, add almonds, raisins, add coconut pieces, boiled milk, sugar and stir it well till sugar melts.

Step 3: Add carrot and cashew nut paste and cook the whole mixture at low flame till it thickens.

Step 4: Set aside till it cool down and serve dessert in a bowl.
