Badhusha, a south indian traditional sweet made with plain flour and sugar syrup. It has delicious taste with cardamom flavor. This dessert is especially prepared at the time of festivals or any special occasions. Let us see the procedure of making this popular dessert.
- Plain flour / maida flour- 1/4kg
- Dalda / vanaspati- 100gms
- Baking soda- pinch
- Ghee- 1 cup
- Water as needed
- Milk- 1/4 cup
- Cardamom powder- 1/2 spoon
- Almonds / cashew nuts- 5-10
Step 1: Heat dalda, ghee and baking soda at low flame for 5-10min.
Step 2: Add plain flour slowly without ay lumps and stir it well.
Step 3: Keep the dough aside for 10min.
Step 4: Make the whole dough into small balls and keep aside.
Step 5: Take a long bottomed vessel, add water and sugar in equal proportions.
Step 6: Boil them till it turns into thin syrup.
Step 7: Add cardamom powder and stir it well.
Step 8: Heat oil in a pan, fry badhusha balls in oil till it turns into brown colour.
Step 9: Later drop the fried badhusha in sugar syrup and let them soak for 5-10min.
Step 10: Serve badhusha in a plate and enjoy the taste of dessert.
Step 11: You can keep almonds, cashew nuts as toppings to the dessert.
