Steamed dahi vada, a popular recipe made with yogurt. This is a low fat recipe with delicious taste. Grated carrot and coriander leaves are used for garnishing, this make recipe to look more attractive. Let us see the procedure of making this recipe.
- Urad dhal -1 1/2 cup
- Moong dhal- 1 1/2 cup
- Grated ginger- 2 spoons
- Salt to taste
- Asafoetida- pinch
- Curd- 2cups
- Chopped coriander leaves- 1/4 cup
- Coriander powder- 1 spoon
- Red chilli powder- 1/2 spoon
- Roasted cumin powder-2 spoons
- Salt as needed
- Grated carrot- 1/4 cup
Step 1: Take urad dhal, moong dhal wash them and soak them in water for 2hrs
Step 2: Later drain and make into fine paste in a wet grinder.
Step 3: Add salt, grated ginger and asafoetida to the batter and stir it well.
Step 4: Keep the whole mixture aside for 15-20min.
Step 5: Take idli stand , apply oil to it and add batter to the idli cups and cook them in a pressure cooker.
Step 6: Cook them for 10min and off the flame.
Step 7: Take a small bowl, add 3 spoons of curd, sprinkle salt.
Step 8: Add steamed idli to the plate, add grated carrot, coriander powder, cumin powder, chilli powder.
Step 9: Atlast add remaining curd and serve them to eat.
